A producer may have several fields with different forage, yield, and cutting schedules. Add one row for each major field or pasture type.

Soil, compaction, and fertility

Soil-map connections may be added later. The current estimate uses user-entered soil observations, compaction concerns, fertility inputs, and a scoring model.

Drum fill / operating weight This means whether the drum is dry or water-filled, changing effective machine action. Seasonal use assumption Default assumes spring/fall use. We removed â€œexpected passesâ€ from the customer flow. Current moisture / drought condition This is field condition at time of analysis or use. Later versions may also look up current drought index automatically. Current competitor / alternative equipment Used to compare likely field effects from different equipment approaches, including blade-fracture aeration where appropriate.

Drought and lost cutting opportunity

Drought and moisture pressure can strongly affect forage response. Use what you know now; future versions may add automatic drought lookup by location.

Current drought status Location-based drought data may be added later; use the best current field estimate for now. Lost production from dry weather in last 12 months Used to estimate the value of a missed cutting or reduced grazing capacity. Runoff / rainfall loss concern High runoff can indicate an opportunity to capture more rainfall and store it deeper in the root zone. Grazing pressure Heavy grazing may create compaction but can also limit recovery if not managed.
