A producer may have several fields with different forage, yield, and cutting schedules. Add one row for each major field or pasture type.

Soil, compaction, and fertility

Future version: ZIP/address/GPS will connect to USDA NRCS SSURGO / Soil Data Access for likely soil map unit. This local prototype uses user-entered soil data plus a simple scoring model.

Known soil texture Heavy clay/loam with compaction usually creates stronger RanchWorx opportunity than loose sand. Compaction concern This is the customer’s observed concern: hard ground, hoof traffic, equipment lanes, poor infiltration. Soil probe / penetrometer readingUse PSI if available. Later versions can support depth-by-depth readings. Soil pHLow/high pH may limit forage response even if aeration helps the soil structure. Drought and lost cutting opportunity

The website should eventually check drought status automatically from NOAA/U.S. Drought Monitor by location. This prototype lets the user enter what they know.

Lost production from dry weather in last 12 months Used to estimate the value of a missed cutting or reduced grazing capacity. Runoff / rainfall loss concern Strong RanchWorx story: capture more of the rain received and store it deeper.
